Experiencing The Territory Wildlife Park

Take a walk on the wild side at the Territory Wildlife Park where guests can get up close and personal with saltwater crocodiles, nocturnal species and birds of prey on display. Located in a 400-hectare natural bushland, the Park is a good dispaly of the Northern Australia's Wild. What is even more exciting about taking a trip to the Territory Wildlife Park is the different activities guests can partake in. Guests of all ages can learn how to tell kangaroos, wallabies and wallaroos apart and watch them hop around. Birds of Prey can be viewed and the behaviour of Top End's nocturnal creatures can be observed.

The Territory Wildlife Park is open from 8:30 am until 6:00 pm. Entrance fees range from $14 to $20, depending on the guest's age. There are also discount packages for families, children age five and below are free of charge.

All About Habitats

At the Territory Wildlife Park, guests can learn about the three wildlife habitats: the Monsoon Vine Forest, the Wetlands and the Woodland. The Monsoon Vine Forest got its name from heavy monsoonal rains during the rainy season, which supplies its water. This rainforest is known for its tall trees, vine thickets and palms. It can go on for six months even without rain. Many animals depend on this forest's dense canopies, fruit trees and waterways.

The wetland areas in the Park are the springs, lagoons and creeks. These are formed after excess water spills from creeks and rivers. Park guests can visit the Goose Lagoon to see the flora and fauna that live in wetlands. The woodland is known as the richest habitat for animals in Northern Territory's Top End. It can be spotted easily for its grassy understorey, Eucalyptus trees, Acacia species and vegetation. Most animals that live in this area are nocturnal because of the high temperature and absence of water.
