The rural district of Howard Springs is home to numerous tourist spots, includeing the Howard Springs Nature Park, fishing areas, charming accommodation and rustic farms. Getting to Howard Springs or to the actual nature park is not that difficult since there are numerous means of transportation that travelers can use.

A main feature of Howard Springs Nature Park is fish feeding. Schools of barramundi, a native fish species that thrive within the confines of the district's nature park are popular attractions. Visitors can actually hand-feed the barramundi and marvel at their silvery scales and size up close

Howard Springs Nature Park has many picnic spots, safe swimming areas, public restrooms, walking and trekking areas, a kiddie pool, snorkeling areas, guided walks and tours, and BBQ facilities.

The nature park is open daily from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. Rangers rove the area to ensure that the protected species are out of harm's way and that the visitors are safely enjoying their tropical vacation. Signs and visual guides are strategically scattered all throughout the park to remind the visitors of the park's do's and dont's. Visitors are strongly advised to wear sunscreen because of the hot tropical sun.

For other exciting activities, tourists can enjoy fishing facilities in nearby areas since some aquatic species within the actual park are protected. To get the schedule for guided tours and other fun-filled fishing activities, visitors can check out Hotspot Fishing Tours and Barramundi Fishing Park -- both located at the Howard Springs district. For travelers who can't get enough of Darwin's amazing tropical flowers, a trip to Jenny's Orchid Garden conveniently situated within the Howard Springs area is a must. Several restaurants that offer an array of delectable cuisines such as the Manor Inn Restaurant are found near the actual park. The Howard Springs area also has a grocery, a gas station and its own news service. A bar is also available, providing a place where tourists can chat with friendly and hospitable locals.

Affordable accommodation within the rural district provides a relaxing sanctuary set against a rustic backdrop.
