Meet The Crocs At the Crocodylus Park

Crocodylus Park, in itself, already sounds like an intriguing travel spot in Northern Territory's Darwin city. Every year, thousands of people visit this remarkable place just to see the huge reptiles! Crocodylus Park has been operating for more than two decades now and it has become a major attraction for tourists and the center of wildlife research and education in Darwin. It was developed by Dr. Grahame Webb, an international expert on crocodiles, together with the people of Wildlife Management International.

Real Crocodiles

With the help of the park's skilled tour guides, visitors can get up close and personal with the different crocodile species, the number of which almost exceeds a thousand, that can be found in the Northern Territory. Moreover, among the park's treat for its guests is the opportunity to actually view the numerous hatchlings, not to mention the 16-foot adult crocodiles that are up for show.

Aside from crocodiles, the Crocodylus Park also takes care of other types of animals. Since this place has a diverse wildlife, tourists can expect to spot some green iguanas, hawksbill turtles and monkeys when they walk in the park. In addition, they can wander around the area to see the big cats, birds, primates and other types of reptiles.

Crocodile Museum

Crocodylus Park has a museum where guests can study closely the different creatures kept therein, while they can also learn how the staff of the park feed the animals by looking at the park's displays. To make their trip to the Crocodylus Park more exciting, they may actually touch a crocodile skin.

Crocodylus Park, apart from being a tourist spot, is also a research center. It is used to acquire different footages of crocodiles and their behavior. Crocodylus Park is also a popular place where researchers can study wildlife management and most specially crocodile biology.

Getting to Crocodylus Park is easy. It is roughly five minutes away from the capital city's airport and about 15 minutes away from Darwin City Centre. Tourists can take the bus or hire a taxi to visit the interesting Crocodylus Park. Entry prices are very affordable to allow more people, especially children, to see the enormous crocodiles as well as other wild animals in the park. The adult's entrance fee is $25, while four to 16-year old kids should pay $12.50. Kids under four years of age can enter the park for free.
