Royal Flying Doctors Service
Alice Springs Visitor Centre The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) has played an invaluable role in Central Australia's history saving lives in its most remote areas. It still operates and is of great value to the territory today, the Alice Springs base open since 1939. Its facilities have continually upgraded to meet modern advancements in technology and this is reflected in the visitor centre. The visitor centre has celebrated its 30th birthday at the turn of the millennium and draws in more than a hundred thousand visitors a year. Tours
